2012 PGA Championship "2-year out" kick-off and ticket announcement

The 2012 PGA Championship will be the first major played in South Carolina and the largest sporting event in the state since the 1991 Ryder Cup. The event will generate an estimated economic impact on the state of $83.6M according to the Office of Tourism Analysis at the College of Charleston. Due to an unprecedented early demand for tickets, new tournament procedures have been implemented to manage the interest in tickets. It has been 20 years since an event of this magnitude has taken place in the state of South Carolina and spectators do not want to miss the opportunity to be a part of another history making event.

The press conference will take place at the Riviera Theater from 2-3 pm.

The Honorable Bobby Harrell, Speaker of the S.C. House of Representatives and co-chair of the 2012 PGA Championship Champions Committee, along with Roger Warren,
President of the Kiawah Island Golf Resort, Helen Hill, Executive Director of the Charleston Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, and Brett Sterba, the 2012 PGA Championship Director, will all be in attendance as the announcements are made.
