Charleston Area Celebrates No. 2 Ranking by Launching Come2Charleston.com

Inspired by the Charleston Area’s newly achieved No. 2 ranking on Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards 2011 list of Top Cities in the United States and Canada, the destination has launched Come2Charleston.com, a round-up of special “2” offers at area hotels, resorts, restaurants and attractions. Travel + Leisure's World’s Best issue (August), featuring Charleston’s No. 2 ranking on page 144, arrives on newsstands July 22.

Discover why Travel + Leisure readers rank Planters Inn the No. 10 Best Small City Hotel in the Continental U.S. and Canada with a $222 package that includes deluxe King room accommodations and signature breakfast at the award-winning Peninsula Grill. Tuck into Charleston Place, No. 26 on the list of Top Large City Hotels in the Continental U.S. and Canada, with a one-night $222 package that includes champagne for two at Mobil four star-rated Charleston Grill. Meanwhile the Shops of Historic Charleston Foundation make it easy to score a souvenir by offering two Rainbow Row mugs for $22, while Food for the Southern Soul is offering two jars of its signature Blackjack Barbecue dry rub spices for the price of one (say “CVB” when ordering to receive the discount).

• The Best Western Sweetgrass Inn is offering 22% savings on weeknight stays with its “2 Good 2 Be True” package.

• For $222, visitors may book the “Twice the Summer Fun” package at Francis Marion hotel, which includes two weeknight accommodations, continental breakfast and two Firefly Two-tinis at the Swamp Fox restaurant.

• Book one standard room night at the historic John Rutledge House Inn for $322 and stay the 2nd night for free. The “2 Nights for 1” package includes breakfast, afternoon tea and complimentary wifi.

• The HarbourView Inn offers gourmet in-suite breakfast, complimentary valet parking, evening wine and cheese and freshly baked cookies at turn down with its $222 Travel + Leisure package.

• The “2 is Better Than 1” package offered by King Charles Inn includes one night of deluxe accommodations, two carriage tour tickets, breakfast, free parking, complimentary wifi and two Two-tinis at the hotel bar.

• At North Charleston Inn, guests may “Stay 2 Nights, Get the 3rd Free” in honor of Charleston’s No. 2 ranking on Travel + Leisure 2011 World’s Best list.

• The “2 for 1 Thriller” package offered by Shem Creek Inn includes one night accommodations and two tickets to Thriller Charleston boat ride in addition to complimentary breakfast, parking and wifi.

Wild Dunes, located on Isle of Palms, offers 20% off two night stays at the resort’s AAA Four Diamond rated Village or its condos.
