12/22/2011

Charlelston, S. C.   -   Delta Air Lines will begin non-stop service from Charleston, S. C. to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) on Thursday, June 7, 2012.  This new service on a 70-seat jet will enable passengers to connect with the many international and trans-continental flights at JFK International Airport, and experience improved coordination with Delta’s SkyTeam alliance partners.  With this addition of JFK International Airport, Charleston now has jet service to all three (3) major New York area airports.  The flight will depart Charleston International Airport (CHS) at 11:40AM and arrive at JFK at 1:40PM.  The return flight will depart JFK at 7:30PM and arrive in CHS at 10PM.

“The new Delta JFK hub will provide easy access for our customers to flights across the United States and overseas,” said Susan M. Stevens, Director of Airports for the Charleston County Aviation Authority.

Delta also announced an equipment change on some of the flights to/from LaGuardia/New York.  This service will be upgraded from 50 seat jets to 70 seat jets.
