MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. TO HOST 100 GOLFERS DURING THE 2008 FALL PALMETTO HIGH SCHOOL GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP

 

Tradition Golf Club and Wachesaw Plantation East to Host Two-Day Junior Golf Tournament 

 

September 10, 2008, Myrtle Beach, S.C. – The Myrtle Beach area will welcome 100 junior golfers to the Grand Strand area for the fourth annual Fall Palmetto High School Golf Championship, September 12-13, 2008. Hosted by Myrtle Beach Golf Holiday, the field of seven boys’ teams and 11 girls’ teams will play Tradition Golf Club and Wachesaw Plantation East during the two-day college-style tournament with Myrtle Beach High School serving as the host school. The 36-hole tournament will feature a boys and girls division with the top three teams and top 10 individual finishers in each division recognized.

 

The seven states represented in the 2008 Fall Palmetto High School Golf Championship include; Arizona, California, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.

 

The Palmetto High School Golf Championships will once again team up with the National High School Golf Coaches Association (NHSGCA) for the annual fall championship. The NHSGCA is the only national association for high school golf coaches and through the partnership, the Palmetto High School Golf Championships reaches high school golf coaches across the country seeking tournaments for their teams.

 

“The Fall Palmetto High School Golf Championship has emerged as one of the most competitive high school team tournaments in the nation,” said Dave Macpherson, Myrtle Beach Golf Holiday Palmetto High School Golf Championship tournament director. “With 18 teams competing this year, this is one of the deepest fields in the tournament’s history and we are happy to provide this college-style experience to these junior golfers.”
