Porter Airlines Resumes Non-Stop Toronto to Myrtle Beach Service

Porter Airlines will begin seasonal, direct-flight service from Toronto to Myrtle Beach, S.C. starting on February 17. Porter will provide four weekly round trips through May 23 with flights scheduled on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. The first week of service features flights on Monday and Thursday.  This is the second year Porter Airlines has offered seasonal service from Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport to Myrtle Beach International Airport. The four weekly flights double the amount offered last year.

“Canadian golfers can once again look to Porter Airlines to provide direct and affordable access to their favorite golf destination,” said Bill Golden, president of Myrtle Beach Golf Holiday. “We are excited and proud to have Porter back for a second year and look forward to helping support their service in what is a very important market for the Myrtle Beach golf industry.” The Myrtle Beach area welcomes 14.7 million visitors annually, boasting over 100 championship golf courses and nearly 100 kilometers of beautiful white sandy beaches along the famed Grand Strand. The Myrtle Beach area is home to a higher concentration of championship courses than any other golf destination in the world, according to the game’s most respected publications. As part of its biennial rankings, Golf Digest ranked seven golf courses in Myrtle Beach among “America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses” in 2009-2010, more public golf courses than any other golf destination in the United States.

Connecting flights are available in Toronto for Thunder Bay, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City and Halifax. Reservations can be made immediately at or through travel agents, with one-way fares from Toronto starting at $179, plus fees and taxes.
