01/17/2013

Life is about to get a little easier for golfers in Baltimore and Philadelphia.

Spirit Airlines announced that it will be offering seasonal, non-stop service to Myrtle Beach from Baltimore-Washington International Airport and Philadelphia International Airport.

The daily flights from both destinations will begin on April 25 and conclude on November 6, offering golfers in two of the game’s strongest markets an easy flight to Myrtle Beach for parts of the spring and fall golf seasons.

The Philadelphia to Myrtle Beach flight will depart each morning at 7:25 a.m. and arrive at 9 a.m., providing time to get in 18+ holes on arrival day. The return flight will depart at 9:50 a.m. and touch down in the City of Brotherly Love at 11:25 a.m.

The BWI to Myrtle Beach flight leaves at 10:45 a.m. and arrives at 12:10 p.m., allowing time for an afternoon round as there are numerous courses within a 10-minute drive of the airport. The return flight departs at 5:20 p.m. and arrives back in the Charm City at 6:40 p.m., creating the opportunity to play 18 holes or more on getaway day.

Easy access isn’t all that Spirit is offering. In 2012, the average one-way fare from Baltimore to Myrtle Beach was $195. The average one-way ticket from Philadelphia was $155.

With Spirit offering fares to each destination for as little as $39 each way, golfers, in addition to gaining time, can also save a significant amount of money.
