Myrtle Beach is one of the fastest growing beach destinations on the East Coast, second only to Florida for number of visitors annually. There are more than 100 golf courses in the area, but whether you're in town for the golf or the beach, the pyramid beckons - the Hard Rock Cafe Myrtle Beach pyramid, that is. It's the only HRC in the world built in this shape. The spectacular lighted fountain out front is one-of-a-kind too. Enter our portal for bracing drinks, kickin' food, and a party atmosphere that won't quit. Feel the healing power of the pyramid as it relieves your sunburn and improves your back swing. (Well, maybe not, but it can't hurt, right?) We promise you won't feel like a mummy, but you might "Walk Like an Egyptian."
Even if you're a die-hard fan of the Hard Rock Cafe chain, you won't be prepared for this nonstandard Hard Rock Cafe. Set a short distance north of Myrtle Beach's center, in the Broadway at the Beach shopping center, it's designed like an ancient Egyptian pyramid, entirely without windows and covered with hieroglyphs. True, there's a vintage motorcycle displayed in front, but no trademark Cadillac is suspended from the ceiling -- which appeals to New Agers, who believe that cosmic and psychic forces are amplified beneath any pyramid. After a few beers or party-colored cocktails, you might believe that the psychics are right. This is one of the most successful and popular Hard Rock Cafes in the worldwide chain. Proudly displayed is all the rock memorabilia you'd expect; the most prized possession is a guitar used in concert by the late Jerry Garcia (of the Grateful Dead). Menu items include the usual Americana: french fries, tacos, burgers, barbecued chicken, milkshakes, and banana splits. In midsummer, be prepared for waits up to 2 hours.
